In spite of the development of online stores and marketplaces in Iran, business owners are still uncertain to enter this field of work, using several excuses to justify their disagreement with this form of business. Although people’s enthusiasm for online shopping is merely a sufficient answer for traditional businesses, we would still like to investigate some incentives for the people to shop online.
One of the most significant reasons for the people to shop online is the state-of-the-art methods used by online stores to respect their customers. Despite of the fact that a huge number of Iranian traditional vendors who are not grateful for customers’ purchases, Not only do online stores not leave their customers on their own during the shopping procedure, but also provide them with customer services, including product returning.
Online shoppers enter a market which is not available in the real world, without needing to get dressed, drive out of the parking lot or to take a taxi. Moreover, they could observe products online anytime and submit orders using smart phones, laptops or even old desktop computers.
People only get to see only one or a few products in most of the stores. Additionally, they could be followed by the salesclerks in person, having to listen to them mentioning the advantages of the products sold at their stores, and how bad their competitive are. On the contrary, everyone is able observe products from all brands and providers, compare them and even read comments written by the previous customers. In principle, it is the people who choose what to buy.
Online stores are always capable of offering customers more and better discounts, as a result of the dealers being eliminated and additionally, an access to a large target population. In sales campaigns, of online stores, cut-rate products are always accessible, which is why surfing online stores is one of the major pleasures among Internet users worldwide.
At the ancient times, everyone in a town used to know who the best shoemaker of the town was, or when a caravan carrying spices was supposed to arrive from India. However, now is the time to be competitive about data and information. It does not matter how large your store might be, or how many warehouses you may own. You need to be exposed in front of the customers and track them continuously, by developing a strategy to improve content and exploiting copywriting techniques.
